Stig Lognseth

I lived in Lillehammer for a few years, and during that period I got to know Stig Lognseth. I think it was 2013-14, and it was the beginning of what was to become Sideproject number 1. Stig is a good, laidback guy and easy to work with. I believe we share the same mindset towards how we approach making music.

Stig plays lead guitar on a lot of my songs on the coming album, and I use and abuse him, lending his experienced ears on all mixes.

So far we have released two songs, «All mine today» in 2018 and «Corner of the bar» just recently in 2021.

On «All mine today» Stig called upon a few of his friends to play synth, bass and drums. The bassplayer and the keys guy, I have briefly met once, the drummer not at all. Bassman Christian Hoff also appears on WWG1WGA, and is currently involved with the project «Eyes».

Jan Ove Fjeld

I’ve known Jan Over for many years. He’s only been into recording for a few years, but has managed to release a lot of his piano instrumentals already. We are releasing our first song together Friday 13th August 2021, and hopefully there are more to come from that partnership also. He also has an interest in video, and made the music videos for two Bitter Sweet songs, «This one’s on me» and «Dreams». And as well as playing different parts on the coming songs, he is helping me put together lyric-videos.

My name is Jan Ove Fjeld, few words about my musical background. Been playing the piano most of my life, went several years on a music school. Despite that, I newer got any good at reading sheets, witch resulted in a unique play stile based on developing the hearing memorize and improvise that also increased the composition skills.

As a solo artist I have released 3 albums and several EP, and singles. Most of it in the more classical contemporary landscape. Even though my own music is more of a classical background I’m still influenced by a lot of the great music from the 70s, Growing up listening to a lot of Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, eagles, genesis and more.
In the 20s I worked many years as a cameraman, so I make music videos to some of my songs myself, and will make some videos for Stream of Self in future as well.
After many years of traveling and drifting around I moved back and now living on Jeløy, a peninsular where a lots of my videoclips are shoot, and where I have my home studio setup.

When first starting to work with Peder I wasn’t really shure how the collaboration would work, individualist as we both are, but it turned out to work surprisingly well, and we have a lots of the same music and sound we both like. As a contributor to Stream of Self either its piano, organ, Rhodes or synth I believe my strongest skill is my background as a composer. Often I take parts from a track and try to improve it either by turning it to another direction or just add something to lift it up, I rarely think of what is right or wrong. I play it because I like it, and luckily Peder often likes it as well, and I think we complete each other in a really nice way. We have a different approach and play style, but at the same time a lots of same taste in music and sound. When combined, that’s when magic can happen.

Jon Pycroft

When I was in Bitter Sweet, we were out looking for a second guitar player a few times. It didn’t quite pan out then but he and I stayed in touch, and he’s now involved in many of the coming Stream of self Songs.

Jon is a British-born guitarist, bassist and singer. He was raised as a teenager on a diet of punk and new wave, before submerging himself in hair rock in the ´80s, before (thankfully) expanding his musical horizons into blues, soul and americana.

He first started playing in bands aged 18; the setlist back then demonstrating

a remarkable similarity to the music he plays in his current covers band “One Night Stand” – Yeah, a terrible name, but there lies a story behind this). Up through the years, Jon has also walked the path of the lonesome troubadour, entertaining (?) many a campfire etc. gathering.

In addition to the above, he also releases self-made music under the nom de guerre of “Boy Cries Wolf”; although has no plans yet to spend his dotage in the South of France living off of his extensive Spotify royalties. He first started collaborating with Peder in 2019 and briefly joined him for the briefest of brief soujourns in The Bitter Sweet.

Bitter Sweet

From late 2018 until May 2020, I was the singer in a band called Bitter Sweet.

We had our first gig together in march 2019. That gig ended up as the bands first release as well. We released a few more songs, and a couple of videos as well.

My last gig with Bitter Sweet, was the Emergenza contest for unsigned bands, the 8th of march.

We came in at second place, and were supposed to be in the «local» finals, playing at Rockefeller the following week or something like that, when Corona hit us.
Typically, the band had a good thing going, and we even managed to get a couple of backing vocals to join in.

I realized pretty fast, that there would not be any playing gigs anytime soon. I decided to pursue mixing instead of practising while bands can’t be out playing for an audience.

Kristina Lausund

Kristina is my sister – she is nine years older than me.

A very long story cut short, she’s not only my sister but also one of my best friends. After being kind of distant growing up because of age, we’ve become closer and closer and closer as the years have gone by.

She’s doing backing vocals on some of my songs, but most of all, this webpage would never have seen the light of day without her. She’s invaluable, and knows tons about stuff I know little to nothing about.
